President Trump has signed the COVID-19 relief and government funding bill approved by Congress late this month. The office of Congressman Fred Upton has released the following:

U.S. Rep. Fred Upton, R-St. Joseph, issued the following statement tonight after President Donald Trump signed the bipartisan COVID-19 relief deal and the fiscal year 2021 budget agreement:

“I’m glad the President saw the light and signed the bipartisan government funding bill and the critical COVID-19 relief package to help the unemployed, small businesses, families, hospitals, health care workers, and the millions of Americans in need. He should not have denied folks certainty this past weekend, especially those 700,000 Michiganders who saw their unemployment benefits lapse. I do fully intend to vote on Monday to support increasing stimulus payments from $600 to $2,000, as he requested. Americans need help – as much as they can get – and this package delivers that assistance.”
