Two From South Bend Arrested After Chase In Niles

Two 18-year-olds from South Bend are in the Berrien County Jail after leading police on a chase early Monday morning in Niles. Sheriff’s deputies noticed them driving in the Tyler Automotive parking lot on South 11th Street shortly before 2 a.m. and gave chase when they took off at a high speed. One was pulled over after a minute and the two were arrested. That vehicle had been stolen in South Bend. The 18-year-old male driver was arrested on charges of Possession/Concealing a Stolen Vehicle and for Fleeing & Eluding. His 18-year-old female passenger was arrested for Possession/Concealing a Stolen Vehicle as well as valid arrest warrants out of Cass and Kent counties in Michigan. The second vehicle, stolen from Tyler Automotive, escaped.
