The annual “Shop with a Cop” program in Berrien County changed quite a bit in 2020 due to COVID-19. The Berrien County Sheriff’s Office Reserve Unit typically selects families to join them at the Walmart in Niles, but could not do that this year because of the pandemic. Instead, the deputies delivered food baskets and gift cards to the doors of five families. Nineteen children were served in Coloma, New Buffalo Township, Niles Township, and Watervliet Township. The office thanks all of their donors: United Federal Credit Union, Honor Credit Union, Niles Walmart, Pike Funeral Home, DA Dodd, Red Bud MX, Wightman & Associates, Milano Pizza, and the Dumminger, Milano, and Snyder families. The program was held December 12.
