The United Way of Southwest Michigan has announced its Volunteer United Youth Scholarship Awards for the season. The group says scholarships are going to Anna Glomski of Paw Paw High School, Jonathan Leach of Ross Beatty High School in Cassopolis, and Zoey Martin of Niles High School for their efforts on behalf of the community this year. Glomski volunteered with Young Explorers, the Van Buren Youth Fair, the Paw Paw Youth Soccer Camp, and the Key Club Adopt A Family, while Leach volunteered with Backpack Ministry, Operation Christmas Child, Adopt a Highway, and the Cass County Medical Facility. Martin volunteered weekly with the disabled in assisted living as she has for several years. The United Way says its scholarship recipients have “demonstrated a commitment to volunteerism through innovation, dedication, and advocacy for community improvement.”
