2020 was a good year for an election in Michigan. Voter turnout was 71%, the highest in 60 years. Governor Gretchen Whitmer says in addition to record turnout, things went very smoothly.
“I’m really please with how relatively drama-free this election was here in Michigan,” said Whitmer. “I also think it’s important to acknowledge the thousands of poll workers working around the clock to make sure every vote was counted.”
She congratulated Joe Biden and Gary Peters for winning in Michigan and welcomed Republicans Peter Meijer and Lisa McClain to Congress.
A judge also dismissed the lawsuit filed by President Trump over the results.
