One person is dead and another recovering at Spectrum Health Lakeland after an overnight shooting around 2 a.m. Friday. Benton Township police were called to the Baric Village at Fairplain Apartments at 777 East Napier for shots being fired. They found one victim who had been shot several times and was taken to the hospital by Medic 1. They also learned of the other victim, who was taken by friends to the hospital where they were pronounced dead on arrival. A possible third victim is being sought by police and may have a head wound. The suspects came from behind buildings C and D and opened fire. No arrests have been made.
