The search continues Thursday for a swimmer who went missing in Lake Michigan off South Haven on Monday. South Haven Area Emergency Services says the 19-year-old from the Jackson area was swimming with an 18-year-old companion when they got into trouble and were seen clinging to a buoy. The 18-year-old was rescued, but the 19-year-old disappeared. Divers from the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Department and South Haven Area Emergency Services were in the water on Thursday morning. Earlier, the area was searched using a drone and sonar. The sheriff’s department is also conducting a shoreline search. They planned to continue on into the evening.
