One person is dead after a crash in Jefferson Township in Cass County late Monday night. The driver lost control of the car on Brownsville Road, with Cass County deputies saying it was due to speed and a freshly applied chip seal on the road. The vehicle rolled several times and came to rest in a field. It is not known if anyone was buckled up. Deputies have identified the victim as 41-year-old Marcus Moore of Cassopolis.
