The Michigan Farm Bureau continues to rail against a state rule requiring farm workers to be tested for COVID-19. In a new video, the organization features some Van Buren County workers against the mandate. Manuel Morales, a plant manager at True Blue Processing in Grand Junction, says workers aren’t showing up because they don’t want to be tested for COVID.

“It’s difficult because I’m down personnel,” Morales said. “Now we have to move people around.”

Also featured in the video is Heritage Blueberries LLC in Bangor, where Rex Schultz says he’s having to use machines to pick blueberries. The state rule mandating farm workers to be tested for COVID have been upheld by a court ruling. It’s being appealed.
