Grand Valley State University is getting ready to welcome 5,000 new and returning students to the Allendale campus starting tomorrow. Greg Sanial is the Chief Financial Officer at Grand Valley and says this year’s move-in period has been extended to 7-days to allow social distancing.

“Our students, faculty and staff are all doing a daily health assessment where we ask them several questions about their symptoms. We’re doing that so we can identify before anybody gets to campus, anybody that may potentially need to be tested. Additionally on campus, we are wrapping up a pretty good testing program.”

Sanial says resident hall directors will be tested weekly once school begins, including testing that took place before this weekend. He says the university will also be conducting random tests to determine the prevalence of COVID-19 on campus.
