We’re just about six weeks away from students returning to college campuses. The ongoing pandemic is raising concern for students with pre-existing conditions who are considered high risk. Nancy Jansen, director of Oakland University’s Graham Health Center, told Michigan News Network this week returning to campus is a personal decision.

“Students need to discuss with their private physician, their personal physician, whether they should live at home and just go online or whether they could live on campus,” Jansen said. “That’s something between the student and their primary care provider.”

Oakland University in Rochester Hills has about 15,000 students. Many are considered commuters and do not live on campus.
