Two college hockey players have been roller blading across the country and wound up in mid-Michigan’s Mason Wednesday afternoon. They’re raising money for the American Cancer Society. The University of Massachusetts – Boston roommates, Andrew Walker of Mason, and Jacob Adkins of New Hampshire, took off from Boston last week for the 875 mile journey.

“During quarantine, the funds for cancer patients have decreased, and cancer is still a very real thing,” Walker told Michigan News Network. “It’s still there, and so we decided to go with the American Cancer Society. We were both affected by it through our family and friends.”

Walker lost his grandfather to cancer while Adkins’ mother has beaten Hodkins Lymphoma twice and is in remission. You can donate to the cancer society at their GoFundMe.
