Looking for somewhere to go during this coronavirus pandemic and still stay safe? Maia Turek with the Michigan Department of Natural Resources says you can see and do a lot and socially distance at one of the state’s state parks or state forest rustic campgrounds.

“It’s been so wonderful to see people, families out and enjoying all of Michigan’s public lands, public waters and really making the most out of what is obviously not a great situation,” Turek told Michigan News Network.

Turek says you do not have to make a reservation to camp at a rustic campground, but it is first come, first serve. You do have to make camp reservations at the state parks. For more information, go to Michigan.gov/StateParks.
