The city of South Haven has installed hand washing stations around its downtown. The city has released the following statement:

The Downtown Development Authority and South Haven/Van Buren Convention & Visitor’s Bureau has collaborated with the City of South Haven to take extra measures for a “stay safe to stay open” environment by installing four handwashing stations on June 24, 2020. These handwashing stations are additional amenities to the open restroom facilities in the downtown area.

The four handwashing stations are located on Phoenix Street at the west end of Dyckman Park by Props, across the street by Subs-n-More, and at the corners of Phoenix and Center Street. They are available all day and serviced once a week. Since installation, supplies for the handwashing stations have been replenished often which means they are clearly being used – which is good news.

“In addition to the availability of hand-washing at the city’s public restrooms, these hand-washing stations will add an extra layer of safety to our visitors and residents this summer”, said Scott Reinert, South Haven/Van Buren Convention & Visitor’s Bureau. “We will continue to follow state guidelines which support a safe and responsible environment for our city.”
