It’s been a strange year with a global pandemic, and some young people in northern Michigan are going to bury a time capsule with letters about what it’s been like. It’s the idea of Dakota Morris, an outreach youth specialist for Staircase Youth Services of Wexford and Missaukee Counties.

“I just wanted something fun and interesting for our youth to do because it’s just been such a crazy year with COVID and the schools shutting down, the Black Lives Matter movement, all of this stuff that is going on,” Morris said.

Once she gets all of the letters from young people in their programs, as well as some church youth groups, they’ll bury the time capsule in mid August. She says young people from the area can send a letter to her at dmorris@staircaseyouthservices.org.
