Police say a St. Joseph Township man was killed in a hit and run crash on Saturday night in Benton Harbor. 20-year-old Thomas Adams was struck shortly before midnight in the 1200 block of Colfax Avenue. The Benton Harbor Department of Public Safety told The Herald Palladium officers were called to the scene about a hit and run involving a pedestrian and a car. Adam was taken to Spectrum Health Lakeland and later to Spectrum Hospital in Grand Rapids, where he died. Police said the driver was later found and arrested. The Berrien County Prosecutor’s Office identified the driver as 35-year-old Lamerrius Glass of Benton Harbor. He’s charged with reckless driving causing death and failure to stop at the scene of crash. Adams had been a well-known athlete for Berrien Springs High School before graduating in 2018. Police ask anyone who may have seen the hit and run crash to contact them.
