A 17-year-old from Niles was taken to a hospital to be treated for injuries after he crashed a vehicle into a Cass County home Monday. The Cass County Sheriff’s Department says deputies were called to the scene at Thomson Street and Dick Street in Howard Township around 1:15 p.m. The teen had been eastbound on Thomson Road when he lost control of his vehicle and drove into the house. The homeowner had been standing outside when the crash happened and was not hurt. The driver was taken to Lakeland Niles Hospital for his injuries. Four minor passengers also had minor injuries and were taken by ambulance to Lakeland. No drugs or alcohol were suspected to be contributing factors to the crash, which remains under investigation.
