Governor: Still A While Before Full Reopening

Restaurants and bars in Michigan are the latest businesses to reopen this week as the recovery from the coronavirus moves forward. There are safety protocols that business owners have to follow in order to re-open and there will be limited capacity. Governor Gretchen Whitmer says it will be a while before restaurants will be able to have full crowds.

“The thing about COVID-19 is it’s still very present,” Whitmer said. “We know that having a lot of people inside in close vicinity of one another is how COVID spreads, and that’s what we want to avoid. Everyone’s anxious to reengage the economy. Doing so in this diminished capacity is a way to start that process.”

While hair and nail salons near Traverse City and the Upper Peninsula will open on Wednesday, hair and nail salons across other parts of the state will be reopening across Michigan June.
