A resurfacing project on M-40 in Van Buren and Allegan counties will start next week. The Michigan Department of Transportation says it’s investing about $1.6 million in more than seven and a half miles of the road from Baseline Road north to M-89 in the city of Allegan. Lane closures will be in effect throughout the project. Both directions of traffic will share one lane with temporary signaling. The work is intended to improve the ride quality and extend the service life of the road. It’s expected to wrap up in late September.
