The city of St. Joseph will start work on the Kingsley-Orchard-Morton project to widen sidewalks for non-motorized transportation and rebuild the roads in the area of Lincoln Elementary. Public Works Director Tom MacDonald says Kalin Construction will start the first phase of the work on Monday, May 4 on Orchard and Morton avenues.

“That work will go from May 4th to about the end of July,” MacDonald told city commissioners Monday night. “Then work will move on to Kingsley.”

MacDonald says the schedule got flipped due to school being called off for the rest of the year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The second phase will rebuild Kingsley from Morton to Niles Avenue from early August until October.
