A Benton Harbor area church is planning to hold an egg drop event next month in St. Joseph Township. Overflow Church Pastor Brian Bennett tells WSJM News they’ll have a helicopter drop eggs on to the American Youth Soccer Organization fields on Maiden Lane on Saturday, April 11.

“We’ll divide the kids up in a non-competitive, but very fun and safe approach, which will allow for these 10,000 eggs that the kids will be able to collect that day,” Bennett said. “A few thousand of them will be dropped by two different helicopter drops.”

Bennett says the eggs will be empty plastic eggs that the kids can exchange for candy once they’ve collected them all. The church had originally planned to hold the egg drop at its own property, but due to the strong response, the event has been moved to the soccer fields. The day will also include plenty of food, and music. Bennett says everyone is welcome to the event set for April 11 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. You’re asked to register at https://www.swmichiganeggdrop.com/.
