The Benton Harbor Area Schools Board of Education will hold a special meeting on Tuesday to interview the candidates for a vacancy on the body. Dashuna Robinson and Roosevelt Bell have put in applications to fill out the rest of former trustee Patricia Rush’s term. The interviews will be held on Tuesday during a meeting to start at 5:30 p.m. Also on Tuesday, the board will consider a resolution to place former basketball Coach Paul Wilhite’s name on the gym floor of the Benton Harbor High School, calling it Coach Wilhite’s court. A request to do so was made at a meeting earlier this month by Benton Harbor High School graduate Dayrl Jackson. He noted Coach Wilhite was one of the school’s winningest basketball coaches and a mentor. The school board’s resolution states “people in the community want to thank Coach Wilhite for not only being a coach, but also a great teacher and a friend. He is a legend.”
