State officials say a fourth person has now died of a lung illness related to vaping. Department of Health and Human Services spokeswoman Lynn Sutfin says the latest victim was an adult female, but she isn’t releasing any other details.

“The age range of these cases  has been 15 to 67,” said Sutfin. “We’ve had 73 that have been confirmed or probable in our state. Although they’ve slowed down with the numbers being reported, they are still coming in to our office.”

Officials with the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention believe a “vitamin E acetate additive is the source of the illnesses. Vapers should seek immediate medical attention if they suffer shortness of breath, chest pain, cough and fever.
