First Michigan State, and now the University of Michigan is investigating allegations one of its former sports doctors sexually abused student athletes. U of M is looking for more potential victims of Robert Anderson. Spokesman Rick Fitzgerald says they know of a handful of cases so far involving Anderson, who examined young men playing for Bo Schembechler and Lloyd Carr from 1968 to 2003. Fitzgerald says there is a hotline to help those who may have been abused find resources to help.

“If they have information to share that would be appropriate to share with police, we’ll connect them with the detectives that have been working on this matter,” says Fitzgerald.

No charges are being filed, as Anderson died in 2008. The allegations first came to light in 2018.

The University of Michigan Compliance Hotline is (866) 990-0111.
