The U.S. Coast Guard and the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department are trying to find 16-year-old Eliza Trainer’s body in Lake Michigan. The Flint-area girl was washed off the pier at Holland State Park by a large wave last night along with an 18-year-old man, who was able to get back on shore and went for help. The search was suspended overnight due to high waves of around 12 feet. The sheriff’s office says they’re still not able to use everything they’d normally use in a recovery effort because the water remains too rough. The Coast Guard has brought down a helicopter from Traverse City to aid in the search.
