A Baroda man is still alive after his pickup crashed upside down into a water-filled ditch on Saturday. The Baroda Lake Township Police Department says the 54-year-old driver swerved to avoid a deer at Date and Linco Roads around 3:45 p.m. First on scene were Baroda-Lake Township Police Chief Shawn Martin and Lake Township Fire Rescue Captain Michael Essig. They were able to break a window and pulled a man out of the vehicle enough so he could breathe. Other first responders got the man all the way out. He was treated and released at the scene. Please say the crash could have ended in tragedy if 911 dispatchers hadn’t been able to keep the driver calm.
