The Heritage Museum and Cultural Center in St. Joseph will hold a fall celebration with an international twist just after Halloween this year. Director Brian Carroll tells WSJM News it’s the second annual Day of the Dead Celebration in partnership with the Southwest Michigan Symphony Orchestra. He says the two team up to have a celebration all about the Mexican Dia de los Muertos.

“It’s also about the themes of the Day of the Dead, which are really about reverence of ancestors, and then that kind of fits in pretty nicely with eh Heritage Museum’s mission,” Carroll said. “So we’re glad to be partnering with the symphony on this.”

On hand will be a youth dance troupe, along with food, games, a raffle, a screening of Coco, and a mariachi band. The event will be a fundraiser for both the symphony and the Heritage Museum. It will be held on the evening of November 1, and you can get tickets by contacting the Heritage Museum and Cultural Center or the Southwest Michigan Symphony Orchestra.
