Gas prices statewide are on the decline. Triple-A Michigan says the average fell 12¢ a gallon over the past week to $2.62, and the auto club expects prices will continue moving lower with the transition to cheaper-to-produce winter blends of gasoline. The highest prices remain in Ann Arbor and Detroit at $2.70, and Saginaw now has the lowest in the state at $2.48. Traverse City had the lowest prices in Michigan for about the past 2 months.

The Benton Harbor-St. Joseph average has dropped to $2.55, a 13¢ decline in the last week and a drop of 41¢ over last year. GasBuddy says South Haven’s prices are as low as $2.30, but those aren’t included in AAA’s survey.
