Digital Vapor Den in St. Joseph sells the flavored nicotine vape juice, the product suddenly banned in Michigan by Governor Whitmer. In fact, owner Dylan Gatties says it’s most of his business. Gatties thinks the governor’s action will hurt adults trying to stay away from smoking tobacco.

“For them to be limited only to tobacco flavors is gonna really discourage the use of it and it’s extremely disappointing,” Gatties tells WSJM News.

Gatties has vaped for seven years and says he’s had no bad health effects. He says the vaping community – or even people who don’t vape but see the value of vaped nicotine in getting people off cigarettes – should try to fight the ban of flavored nicotine vaping products in Michigan.

“We have to fight this and see what we can do to fight this. We didn’t get to vote on this. This happened overnight, woke up and it was just gone. So all I can say is be loud. Let’s speak, get ahold of our state representatives and see what we can do to combat this.”

Gatties says he’s skeptical of claims of pneumonia and other health issues with vaping.
