Former Governor Jennifer Granholm will come to South Haven on September 18 as a guest of the South Haven Speaker Series. Frank Cunningham with the series tells WSJM News after five years of welcoming guest speakers to the area, the organization is attracting growing interest.

“We’ve been very, very happy,” Cunningham said. “The first year, I think we averaged maybe 125 people or a little less than that, and it’s grown each year. Last year our average attendance was 170. We’ve had as many of 220 people come in for a given talk.”

Granholm will speak at the Listiak Auditorium at South Haven High School, and her topic will be “Top Trends Affecting Michigan.” Cunningham says she’ll draw on her experience to make those predictions. Admission will be $10, and all are welcome. After that, October 17 will bring an engagement by social psychologist David Meyer. His presentation will be called “Smart Thinking in A Post Truth Age.” That engagement will also be at 7:30 p.m. at Listiak Auditorium. You can find out more right here.
