Voters headed to the polls Tuesday to decide on some local matters. In Berrien County, St. Joseph Public Schools had a $5.8 million millage renewal on the ballot. It easily passed. In Royalton Township, voters were asked for a small millage increase for the fire department to raise $35,000 over five years and also to renew the township’s millage for fire, ambulance, and library services. They said yes to both issues.

In Van Buren County, voters approved a millage increase to raise $16,000 for the Bangor Historical Society over five years while Darren Williams was elected mayor of Bangor. Finally, Lawton Community Schools had a bond proposal that sought a half mill over 14 years to raise $4.5 million. Voters said yes.
