A fundraiser for the Alex Mandarino Foundation will be held this Saturday at North Pier Brewing Company in Benton Harbor, and on hand to be dunked will be state Representative Pauline Wendzel. She tells us North Pier sells a brew named for Alex Mandarino, who died at the age of 5 after a battle with cancer. The beer is called 415AM, and the brewery will donate $1 from each pint of the white IPA sold to the foundation.

“It will be a good time, and we’re raising money for the Alex Mandarino [Foundation],” Wendzel said. “The 415AM actually stands for Alex Mandarino, and 415 was his birthday.”

The Alex Mandarino Foundation raises money for pediatric cancer research. If Saturday’s event raises at least $4,150, Wendzel will get into the dunk tank. That’s not all. Also there to be dunked will be retired Whirlpool CEO Jeff Fettig and United Way of Southwest Michigan President Anna Murphy. The dunking will commence at 4:30 p.m. The overall fundraising event begins at 3 p.m. and runs through closing time.
