She made a career for 20 years in St. Joseph City Hall as the city’s marketing manager, and now Susan Solon wants back in, but in a different capacity. She is running for the city commission, and made her announcement during Monday night’s city commission meeting.

“I do not have an agenda, nor am I a politician,” she said. “I simply have a great love for this community and want to serve the residents of this wonderful city.”

Solon retired in September 2018, and her position as St. Joseph’s marketing manager remains open. It will be combined with the clerk’s position soon as the clerk duties are being split from those of the city finance director. Both of those jobs will soon be posted with the upcoming departure of Sara McCallum.

City commissioners Lynn Todman and Jeff Richards along with Mayor Pro Tem Laura Goos are up for reelection this fall.
