White-out conditions early Wednesday morning are blamed for causing a semi hauling cattle to flip as it was headed east on I-94 in Van Buren County. The crash happened near Lawrence a little before 2 a.m. according to Michigan State Police Lieutenant Ryan Schoonveld.

“The crash itself ended up killing four of the animals, and the rest of them were all okay,” he says.

33 beef cattle were in the trailer at the time of the crash, which remains under investigation. The wreck closed one lane on I-94 for several overnight hours.
