Devin Vassell and Trent Forrest helped 18th-ranked Florida State beat Notre Dame on Monday. Vassell scored 13 points on 5 of 6 shooting and had seven rebounds to send the Seminoles past the Fighting Irish, 68-61. Vasell sparked a second-half charge with a dunk and a 3-pointer on consecutive possessions. Forrest shot 4-for-6 from the line in the final minute to help FSU improve to 22-6 overall and 10-5 in the ACC. D.J. Harvey scored 18 points for the Irish, who missed nine of their last 10
field-goal attempts.

Andre Drummond had 26 points and 16 rebounds, Blake Griffin had a triple-double and the resurgent Detroit Pistons won for the seventh time in eight games, beating the Indiana Pacers 113-109 on Monday night. Griffin had 20 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists for Detroit, which is battling for a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference _ and right now is on the right side of that cutoff. Indiana lost for only the second time in 10 games. Pacers center Myles Turner returned after missing two games with a bruised left hip. He scored seven points. Domantas Sabonis scored 23 for Indiana, but he appeared to injure his left ankle with just over a minute remaining. Bojan Bogdanovic scored 25 points
Bucks 117, Bulls 106 – With Antetokounmpo sidelined, Bucks beat Bulls 117-106
Khris Middleton and Malcolm Brogdon each scored 22 points, and Milwaukee beat the Chicago Bulls 117-106 Monday night without Giannis Antetokounmpo. While the All-Star forward sat out with a sore right knee, the Bucks overcame a sluggish start to pick up their 17th win in 19 games. The Bucks used a huge second quarter to grab a nine-point lead after falling behind by 14. That propelled them to their eighth straight road win — their best streak since a nine-game run during the 1981-82 season. Brogdon hit 4 of 7 3-pointers. Middleton nailed 3 of 5 from beyond the arc. Nikola Mirotic scored 13 in his first game in Chicago since the Bulls traded him to New Orleans last season. And the Bucks moved a season-high 32 games over .500. Lauri Markkanen and Robin Lopez each scored 26 for Chicago. But the Bulls’ season-high three-game win streak came to an end. It was the ninth straight 20-point game for Markkanen, who scored a career-best 35 against Boston on Saturday.

NHL – Blackhawks activate Crawford from injured reserve
The Chicago Blackhawks have activated two-time All-Star and Stanley Cup champion goalie Corey Crawford from injured reserve. Crawford, who helped Chicago win championships in 2013 and 2015, has been sidelined since Dec. 16 because of his second concussion in two seasons. He is 6-14-2 with a 3.28 goals-against average and .902 save percentage in 23 games. Chicago, which has jumped into playoff contention, visits Anaheim on Wednesday. The Blackhawks assigned goalie Collin Delia to the American Hockey League’s Rockford IceHogs on Monday, leaving Cam Ward and Crawford as the goalies on the NHL roster. Delia is 6-4-3 with a 3.48 goals-against average and .909 save percentage in 15 appearances with Chicago. He agreed to a three-year contract extension with the Blackhawks on Feb. 11.

NFL – NFL says Kraft won’t receive special treatment
The NFL says it will handle the sex solicitation case involving New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft as it would any other issue under the league’s personal conduct policy. The 77-year-old owner has been charged with soliciting a prostitute in Florida as part of a crackdown on sex trafficking. Hundreds of arrest warrants have been issued. Police are still investigating and there likely will be a league inquiry. Commissioner Roger Goodell could fine or suspend Kraft from any activities involving the Super Bowl champions. The NFL says it will “take appropriate action as warranted based on the facts.”
NFL – Raiders making progress on completing Coliseum lease for ’19
The Raiders are making progress toward completing a lease to keep the team at the Oakland Coliseum for at least one more season. Coliseum Authority director Scott McKibben said Monday that the two sides are having “good, constructive talks” for finalizing a new lease for 2019 with an option for 2020. But McKibben says there are still details to be worked out before a contract can be brought to the board for approval. McKibben says that could happen by the end of next week. The Raiders have been searching for a home for 2019 before they move to Las Vegas to play in a new $1.8 billion, 65,000-seat stadium. The team had pulled out of lease extension talks after Oakland sued the Raiders and the NFL over the planned move to Las Vegas.

- St. Joe advanced to the Division 1 District Semifinals with a 57-53 win over Portage Central. Trailing by six after the first quarter, the Bears took a five point lead into the half and led by as many as 14. Jordan Marble poured in a game high 22 points for the Bears, including five 3 pointers. With the win, St. Joe advances to face Holland Wednesday night at 5:30 in Mattawan.

- Four Lakeshore players hit for double figures last night, pacing the Lancers to a 65-48 win over South Haven in the first round of the District 46 tournament at Lakeshore. The Lancers’ Junior guard Austin Kiser led his team with 20 points on the night. South Haven Junior guard Brenden Williamson led all scorers with 22 in the loss. Lakeshore now faces Coloma in the District semi-final on Wednesday night.
