There will be some real party animals hanging out this Saturday at the Humane Society of Southwestern Michigan. That’s because they’re holding the annual Holiday Party for the Animals and Open House at the shelter in Royalton Township. Humane Society of Southwestern Michigan Volunteer Coordinator Taylor Michael tells WSJM News everyone is welcome there from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

“We will have a refreshment table, we will have raffle prizes, a sweatshirt and t-shirt table,” Michael said. “We will also be introducing something new. We have sweatpants this year, as well as a holiday pet boutique selling pet supplies and things like that.”

Everyone can tour the shelter, and the Humane Society is asking for donations. They need things like canned dog food, bleach, pet beds, and money. The dollars raised will go toward paying off the last bit of the new shelter. Michael says all they want for Christmas is to be mortgage free, and they’re almost there.
