A pair of events put on by Rock 107 WIRX in September are helping out Benton Harbor’s Emergency Shelter Services. The station gave the check for just over $1,100 to shelter officials on Tuesday, with the money having been raised during Bike Bash and the Rock Alliance Three-Day Ride. Executive director Joanna Basha told WSJM News the money will be put toward helping the homeless in the area.

“Homelessness is not somebody that’s uneducated or just down on their luck,” Basha said. “It can be a nurse at Lakeland. It can be somebody from Whirlpool. Everybody. Everybody’s vulnerable.”

You can stop in to the 6 Degrees Retail Store, or visit them online at EmergencyShelterServices.org if you’d like to help in any way.
