Republican candidate for the Michigan House in the 79th District Pauline Wendzel is feeling good ahead of the big election Tuesday. She tells us, to her, the three biggest issues are auto insurance, jobs for young people, and CTE training. As for auto insurance, Wendzel tells WSJM News it’s a complicated problem.

“But I know the system is rigged, and I’m going to do my best to try to figure it out and see what we can do about it,” Wendzel said. “I know it’s hospitals, it’s also the insurance companies, and we all have to work together to come to a fix.”

Wendzel says lawmakers will need to put their heads together to reduce rates. She says creating jobs for young people will also require collaboration.

“Right now, we’ve already been talking with a lot of superintendents and teachers in the area, and our schools have already started in that direction by coming up with a lot of different programs that they’re offering, but we need collaboration throughout southwest Michigan between our schools and our colleges,” Wendzel said.

Wendzel says young people not headed to college need to know career and technical training options exist. She says, if elected, she’ll represent southwest Michigan’s morals and values.
