Honor Credit Union is collecting cases of bottled water to be donated to Benton Harbor Area Schools. The water drive is due to tests finding lead levels higher than the federal Action Level in eight homes this fall, and the school district switching to bottled water as a precaution as a result. The donations started with 300 cases from Whirlpool after Benton Harbor branch manager Andrew Cleminshaw reached out to area businesses for help. Sealed and packaged bottled water can be dropped off at Honor Credit Union branches in Coloma, Benton Harbor, St. Joseph, and Stevensville through the end of November. Honor Credit Union team members will deliver the water to Benton Harbor High School.
