Vice President Mike Pence is in Michigan today to campaign with Republican gubernatorial nominee Bill Schuette and U.S. Senate hopeful John James.

“It’s a big deal for Michigan, for me and my campaign for governor, and our entire ticket,” Schuette says. Pence began his appearances in Oakland County in metro Detroit rallying for Schuette, Congressman Mike Bishop and congressional candidate Lena Epstein. He will speak tonight at the Kent County Republican Party’s Lincoln Day dinner at the DeltaPlex arena in Grand Rapids. Pence’s wife was in metro Detroit on Friday to campaign with Epstein, who chaired President Trump’s campaign in Michigan in 2016.

“To have the Vice President come in and talk about moving the state forward with more jobs and more paychecks, it’s an exciting day,” said Schuette. He adds he’s not heard for sure if President Trump will be coming to Michigan to campaign for him before Tuesday, but he’s hopeful it will happen.
