Hartford Public Schools officials are addressing a drug issue at the high school. Superintendent Andrew Hubbard has sent a letter to parents and posted it on the district’s website and Facebook page saying they are working with Michigan State Police to investigate a student allegedly bringing brownies laced with marijuana to school on September 26. Another student reported it to the OK2SAY tip line. Several students received the brownies, and are being “dealt with” according to district policy. The one accused of bringing in the drug-laced food was a candidate for homecoming queen and has reportedly moved out of state. Hartford High School will not elect a homecoming queen this year as a result of the incident, and no one got sick from the brownies.
