Today brings the biggest effort to clean up Great Lakes of the year. Alliance for the Great Lakes spokesperson Jennifer Caddick tells WSJM News hundreds of beach cleanups are being held throughout the Great Lakes region, and everyone’s welcome to show up. “Last year, we had about 240 cleanup sites around the region, and we’re aiming for about that same number again,” Caddick said.
Cleanups planned in southwest Michigan for today include Jean Klock Park, Tiscornia Park, Rocky Gap Beach, and Pere Marquette Park Beach. There are several others. You can find all of the locations and the times at GreatLakesAdopt.org.
