The Benton Township Police Department is investigating the armed robbery of a Check Into Cash store on Thursday afternoon. The department tells us two men walked into the store at 1357 Mall Drive just before 2 p.m. and demanded money. One of the store’s employees was sprayed with pepper spray by the one of the suspects. The two suspects then made off on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash. They’re described as black males wearing baggy clothing. A Berrien County Sheriff’s Department K9 was brought in to track the suspects, but they have not been found. The employee who was hit with the pepper spray suffered irritation to the face, but did not seek medical treatment. Anyone with information on the robbery is asked to call the Benton Township Police Department.
