There will be a debate or more between Congressman Fred Upton and Democratic opponent Matt Longjohn in the race for the Sixth District congressional seat. Upton tells WSJM News he’ll make it a priority. Longjohn has called for six debates.

“Are there going to be six?” Upton said. “I don’t know how many we’ll have, but we’ll have a number of opportunities for individuals to submit questions in a fair, moderated type of event.”

Upton’s campaign put out a vague statement last week, telling us it would make sure “voters can see and hear for themselves our contrasting visions for the future of Southwest Michigan.” The election will be November 6.
