With FBI fugitive Antwan “Tank” Mims now in custody, police have a whole lot of work still to do. Benton Harbor Department of Public Safety Director Dan McGinnis tells WSJM News catching Mims for two murders in the city on March 25 is just the first task. Now, he’s hoping more people will talk.

“We’ve got a pretty solid case, and we want o be sure that we solidify it even more because now the hard work really begins,” McGinnis said.

Mims was picked up this week in Georgia. McGinnis says it was reasonable for some to fear coming forward with Mims information as long as he was on the loose.

“If he would walk up at a party and kill two people at point-blank range with people standing around as if no one’s there, obviously that sends a message he’s extremely dangerous,” McGinnis said.

McGinnis tells us having the FBI put Mims on the Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list greatly helped in capturing him. McGinnis says without the FBI’s help, that could not have happened.
