If you’ve moved since the last election or haven’t registered to vote for whatever reason and want to cast a ballot in next month’s primary, you’re short on time. Secretary of State spokesman Fred Woodhams tells WSJM News the state has a high number of registered voters, but it’s always good to make sure you’re good to cast your ballot.

“Someone who may have turned 18 or recently moved to Michigan or who just hasn’t registered to vote before, they have until July 9 to register to vote,” Woodhams said.

You can find the address needed for your local clerk by going to Michigan.gov/vote and if you’re already registered but need to change your address, a visit to ExpressSOS.com might be all you need to do. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on August 7.
