One of the new attractions at Harbor Shores for this year’s KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship put the spotlight on local wineries and distilleries. Kimberly Rhine of North Carolina was among those tending the bar and talked to WSJM News about how well The Makers Trail 19th Hole went over.

“It’s been really busy, everyone seems to be avoiding the sun and enjoying some good drinks,” said Rhine. “Everything we have here is local from the beers, wines, and spirits.” She says people were able to exit their comfort zone, adding “people have tried more beers that they didn’t think they would like.” Rhine says the Passionfruit White Ale from Watermark was pretty popular.

It was set up in between the fairway of the 16th hole and the par-3 17th hole, where Rhine said there was a good deal of excitement late in the day on Saturday.

“Tom Byrum hit a hole in one, so people were really happy about that.”

The Makers Trail 19th Hole featured selections from Silver Harbor Brewing Company, The Livery, North Pier Brewery, Watermark Brewing, Domaine Berrien Cellars, Hickory Creek Winery, Lemon Creek Winery, Round Barn, and Journeyman Distillery.
