A new Michigan State Police Museum and Learning Center opened on Wednesday in Dimondale with a ribbon cutting. MSP Captain Mike Krumm told Michigan News Network the museum features weapons and vehicles that state police used back when the department began in 1917. He says it’s interactive.

“We have a simulated crime scene for folks to work through and see some of the tools used today in working a crime scene,” Crumm said.

The museum will be open on Wednesdays for tours. The Michigan State Police Museum and Learning Center is located on the first floor of state police headquarters. Admission will be free.
