The prevention of bullying is now a priority at Covert Public Schools in Van Buren County. Director of Communications Brittany Millan tells WSJM News bullying will not be tolerated, and she wants students to report bullying immediately.

“We have zero tolerance for bullying and threats, and if there is a threat or if a student feels there is a bully, it’s very important to tell an adult as soon as possible,” Millan said.

Millan says response to bullying complaints will be handled quickly.

“We will handle that situation on the spot, and we will make sure we do everything we can to make that student feel safe,” Millan said.

If a child tells a parent, the parent should notify the school as soon as possible. Millan says that includes cyberbullying.
