A change has been announced for former state Representative Aric Nesbitt. On Thursday, the Republican from Lawton told us he’s resigned from his post as Michigan Lottery Commissioner. Nesbitt, who has held that job for 13 months, tells WSJM News it’s been a productive time at the Michigan Lottery

“Last year we had a record year for the schools, providing $924.1 million for our state schools,” Nesbitt said. “That’s about $2.5 million lottery players provided for schools every day last year.”

Nesbitt is the youngest lottery commissioner in the country at 38 years old. He tells us he’ll have an announcement in a couple of weeks regarding his next move. We’ll talk with him again when that announcement is made.
